What is EFT?
(Emotional Freedom Technique
) is a kind of “emotional acupressure”
and is rooted in the ancient Chinese meridian energy system; it is carried
out by simply tapping on the major meridian points on the face and upper
body. It is classed as a relative of acupuncture (a healing technique using
needles on areas on the “energy meridians” or energy pathways) or
“acupuncture without needles”.
EFT could help you with a whole range of issues and is a technique I often
use in combination with hypnosis and
to provide a well rounded and balanced therapy.

How Does EFT Work?
EFT seeks to relieve symptoms by tapping various body points as you focus on
the problem and speak out loud. This tapping aims to help restore the
balance of energy that has become disturbed, when you have thought about or
experienced an emotionally upsetting incident with the intention of reducing
or eliminating a particular issue or problem. Once your energy is balanced,
the distress is usually sorted out – you will still have the memory but the
emotional imbalance is gone.
EFT is based on TFT (Though Field Therapy) by Dr Roger Callahan. TFT is
another tapping technique that uses unique complex tapping routines to deal
with different issues.
EFT creator Gary Craig designed one single procedure to help deal with any
and all issues. According to Gary the basis behind this technique is that
"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy
system." So tapping on various points of the meridian system could help to
eliminate the disturbance and restore your system to normal. EFT has been
used to try and help with everything from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder) to phobias and fears

What Happens in an EFT Session?
After discussing what it is you want to achieve we will tap on the major
meridian points on your face and upper body whilst focussing and reciting
out loud phrases related to your issue; this is intended to help you release
